Receive a diagnostic test after fever on the last 5 days
Additional confirmation of the survey for workers in the same ward
According to the JoongAng Ilbo coverage on the 7th, nurse A of the National Medical Center in Jung-gu, Seoul was tested positive for Corona 19 on the 6th. The nurse said that after completing the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on the 28th of last month, he did not show any adverse reactions. However, 5 days after the vaccination, when the fever started to develop, nurse A suspected of Corona 19 and underwent a diagnostic test, and was finally confirmed.
The National Medical Center closed down the ward where Nurse A was working and conducted disinfection. The patient who was hospitalized in the ward and was treated for Corona 19 was moved to another ward. The medical center thoroughly investigated about 40 people. In the process, one nurse received an additional positive test. The nurse also received the Pfizer vaccine at the end of last month. The two confirmed nurses are said to have worked at night work together earlier this month. The quarantine authorities plan to investigate more specific routes of infection.

Getting the Corona 19 vaccine doesn’t mean it will work right away. The protective effect of the vaccine begins 2 weeks after vaccination. More specifically, 4 weeks are required. The quarantine authorities believe that the two nurses may have already been infected with Corona 19 before vaccination or were exposed to the virus before the protective effect appeared. Experts urged that getting the vaccine does not produce 100% antibodies, and that even after getting the vaccine, you must wear a mask, distance yourself, and follow key quarantine rules.
An official from the Central Defense Response Headquarters said, “We will collect reports and reports of local governments and explain them at a briefing on the 8th (regular) regarding the infection of nurses at the Central Medical Center.”
