Daegu City announced on the 7th that Mayor Kwon Young-jin will be vaccinated with AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine to dispel controversy over the safety of the Corona 19 vaccine.
Mayor Kwon is planning to encourage the vaccination and medical staff after vaccination at the Jung-gu Health Center at around 11 am on the 8th.
On February 26, the Daegu area started the first vaccination of the AZ vaccine for 13,000 hospitalized, residents, and workers under the age of 65 at nursing hospitals and nursing facilities.
Starting on the 3rd of this month, Pfizer vaccination has been given to 3,000 workers in the Corona 19 treatment hospital.
On the 4th, AZ vaccination was started on 21,000 people, including workers at high-risk medical institutions, and on the 7th, more than 2,000 first responders to Corona 19 were also vaccinated.
From July, citizens are expected to be available at 9 vaccination centers and 800 commissioned medical institutions in each region depending on the supply and demand situation of the vaccine.
Mayor Kwon Young-jin said, “Citizens may be vaccinated with peace of mind. After vaccination, in case of any abnormal reactions, we are fully prepared, such as having excellent medical staff waiting right next to you,” he said. “When the vaccination order comes, everyone will be vaccinated together to end Corona 19 as soon as possible.
