Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon under police investigation on charges of defamation of a fellow professor

Former Dongyang University professor Jin Jung-kwon was investigated by the police for slandering a fellow professor in connection with the alleged forgery of a citation for the daughter of former Justice Minister Cho Kook.

The Seoul Mapo Police Department announced on the 4th that it was investigated as a respondent on the 4th in connection with the case in which Jeon Jin was accused of defaming Professor Jang Kyung-wook of Dongyang University.

On December 3, last year, Professor Jang filed a criminal complaint with the Seoul West District Prosecutor’s Office on charges of defamation, insult, and violation of the law on promotion and protection of information and communication networks. The Mapo Police Department is taking over the case from the Seoul West District Prosecutor’s Office and is investigating it.

At the time of the complaint, Professor Jang said in an article posted on his Facebook page, “Professor Jin, from November 17, 2019 to February 17, 2020, honored me on his social media and YouTube broadcast. While naming it as’revelator’, he claimed that he damaged my reputation with false information based on false presumptions.”
