Chelsea beat Liverpool 1-0. Mason Mount scored the victory in the 42nd minute of the first half. Chelsea (47 points), having undefeated in eight league games (5 wins and 3 draws), jumped to fourth place.
It was a tough opponent, but Chelsea’s strategy worked. Liverpool raised the line as usual and tried to press forward, and Chelsea responded with a long ball. We had fun with a strategy of putting Werner, who has a quick foot, in the forefront, and passing the ball forward at once from the rear.
Werner was unable to activate the scoring gun, but he produced a flashy scene several times with vigorous movement. In the 11th minute of the first half, Werner grabbed the ball from Ben Chilwell’s half-line and shot it, but the goal was turned away.
In the 24th minute of the first half, Werner received a long ball from the rear and beat Alison, scoring the net. Offside was declared after reading the VAR, but showed a great finish. After the match, coach Tuchel was asked,’Is there any special attempt to score Werner?’ Director Tuhel said, “There is nothing special. I demand 100% of all training. I do not tolerate self-pity,” he said.
“Werner is full of talent and plays in the top clubs of the world’s top leagues. You don’t need too much self-pity and worry. The only responsibility we have to do is to get the best out of him.”
There was no score, but he put his thumb on his outstanding performance. Coach Tuhel said, “I am totally satisfied with Werner’s performance today. We will try to instill confidence in him.”
After taking office, coach Tuhel was satisfied with the achievement of undefeated in 10 games (7 wins and 3 draws). He said, “I’m really happy. From the first day I entered the team, I felt that I was part of the club, and I was immersed in the team. We are ready to play as a team, fight for each other, and sacrifice.”
