SK, which was transferred to the club, promises to donate 2.5 billion won for the development of Korean baseball

Shinsegae Group (hereinafter referred to as Shinsegae), which acquired SK Wyverns, became a new partner to share the history of KBO in Korean professional baseball.
The Korean Baseball Commission (KBO) held a general meeting of the owners in writing and unanimously approved the transfer of membership to Shinsegae on the 5th.
KBO held the board of directors on the 2nd to deliberate on the application for approval of SK and Shinsegae’s transfer of membership, and reviewed Shinsegae’s club operation plan and presented it to the general meeting.
KBO decided that an urgent decision was necessary for the normal participation of Shinsegae’s pilot games and regular season, and decided to decide in writing a general meeting of the owners.
The transfer of the club to Shinsegae, which was approved by the final unanimous agreement on this day and focused the attention of baseball fans, was finished.
The subscription fee, which attracted attention, was decided at 6 billion won.
The subscription fee was deliberated by the board of directors in accordance with Article 9 of the KBO Rules and then presented to the general meeting.
The decision was made based on comprehensive judgment after careful examination of past cases as well as changes in club values, league expansion, and spectator numbers.
It was the only case that KIA Tigers paid 3 billion won when it acquired Haitai Tigers in 2001 that the acquisition fee was imposed by a club that was not the foundation.
Even if we look at the most recent founding case, the amount has jumped twice compared to the 10th club kt wiz’s subscription fee of 3 billion won in 2013.
An official from a club pointed out that the new KBO governor Ji-taek Ji-taek played a big role in the decision to join Shinsegae at 6 billion won.
SK, which transferred the club to Shinsegae, promised to voluntarily donate 2.5 billion won for the development of Korean baseball and said a beautiful goodbye.
SK is the first time in the history of the KBO League to give up the club and make a donation for baseball.
