Shinim Kim served as a legal secretary in the Senior Civil Affairs Office from January 2005 to April 2007 at the Blue House of the Roh Moo-hyun administration. At that time, the chief executive officer of Min Jeong was President Moon.
After leaving the Blue House, he served as the representative lawyer of Haemaru Law Firm for 10 years from 2007. Haemaru, a law firm founded in 1992 by former lawmaker Cheon Jeong-bae, was also the place where former President Roh Moo-hyun joined with Minister of Public Administration and Security Jeon Jeon Jeon and served for five years until 1998. During this period, he served as a member of the Special Committee on the Human Rights of the Victims of Japan at the Korean Bar Association, and vice-chairman of the Lawyers’ Association for Democratic Society (Minbyun).
During the last presidential election, he was active in the Moon’s camp, and after the inauguration of the Moon Jae-in administration, he served as a member of the auditor’s supervisory committee in July 2017.
