[아시아경제 이기민 기자] By 2030, Volvo Motors has decided to convert 100% of all models it produces to electric cars. In addition, it will introduce integrated online and offline customer service so that vehicles can be purchased online following the existing offline sales.
Volvo Motors announced on the 2nd that “we will accelerate the strategy of electrification for climate neutrality,” and “we will make up all our portfolios with pure electric vehicles.” Volvo Cars aims to make up 50% of its global sales by 2025 for electric vehicles and 50% for hybrid vehicles.
“There is no future for cars with internal combustion engines,” said Henrik Green, CTO of Volvo Cars. “Volvo has a firm commitment to becoming an electric vehicle manufacturer, and this transition will be completed by 2030.”
As eco-friendly legislation is spreading all over the world and high-quality charging infrastructure is expanding at a rapid pace, the pure electric vehicle market has expanded, and Volvo Motors has decided to respond in earnest.
In addition, it will introduce integrated online and offline customer service to reflect the growing interest of customers in online sales. Volvo Cars plans to first sell pure electric vehicles online on the website and make large-scale investments in online sales channels.
In addition to strengthening the online sales platform, retail sales partners will be responsible for shipment preparation, delivery and management services. With its online store, Volvo Cars expected to simplify the contracting process and drastically reduce the process. It is predicted that not only convenient ordering but also a transparent reconnaissance system will be possible since there is no need for a separate price negotiation.
Hakan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Cars, said, “We decided to invest in the future of electric vehicles with high growth potential and online,” and “we will be committed to becoming a leader in the premium electric vehicle segment.”
