With the spread of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Korea still, the number of new confirmed cases on the 3rd increased by 100 from the previous day to the mid-400 range. This is the increase to 400 people again after four days since the 27th of last month (415).
In particular, there are concerns about the spread of this as a link in the first two days of the Corona 19 preemptive test conducted by Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province for foreigners in the region. Moreover, in the recent metropolitan area, the scale of existing group outbreaks is increasing day by day. In addition, new infections are continuing in everyday spaces such as family and acquaintances, daycare centers, and taekwondo centers, making it difficult to block the spread.

Looking at the regions where confirmed cases were found, 353 people in the metropolitan area, including 116 in Seoul, 218 in Gyeonggi, and 19 in Incheon, accounted for 82.9% of the total occurrence.
In the case of major infections, group infections have occurred, mainly in the workplaces of foreign workers. In Dongducheon City, 105 people, including 96 foreigners, were tested positive for two days on the last 1-2 days.
Among the confirmed cases, there are cases where the main living areas including workplaces are Yangju, Pocheon, Namyangju, and Incheon, so there is a high concern about the spread. There have also been infections involving daycare centers, family and acquaintance groups, and restaurants.
In a daycare center in Nowon-gu, Seoul, a total of 14 people were confirmed. In addition, a group of family and acquaintances in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do (11 people cumulatively), Taekwondo school and daycare center in Suwon-si (21 people), and a group of college students in Buk-gu, Daegu (15 people). Infection was also confirmed.

There were 18 confirmed overseas inflows, 7 fewer than the previous day (25). Two of the confirmed cases were confirmed during quarantine at the airport or port.
The remaining 16 were tested positive during self-quarantine in Gyeonggi (9), Seoul (3), Daegu, Incheon, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam (1 each) districts or temporary living facilities.
When local outbreaks and overseas inflows (excluding quarantine) are combined, there are 366 people in the metropolitan area, including 119 people in Seoul, 227 people in Gyeonggi, and 20 people in Incheon.
The number of deaths increased by 6 from the previous day to 1612. The average fatality rate in Korea is 1.78%. There were a total of 129 patients with severe gastric disorders, a decrease of 6 from the previous day. As of 0 o’clock on this day, the cumulative positive rate was 1.35% (9,816 out of 671,6203).
The government plans to curb the corona19 epidemic as much as possible through vaccination and’social distancing’ (Section 2 in the metropolitan area, Stage 1.5 in the non-metropolitan area). Currently, the government is considering whether to include senior citizens aged 65 years or older who were excluded from the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine.
This is because, as the clinical results of the AZ vaccine being effective for the elderly have been announced in Europe, the number of countries including the elderly in the vaccination target is increasing.
