‘Out-of-school experience learning’ recognized as attendance is also possible
With the coronavirus infection (Corona 19) persisting, kindergartens and elementary, middle and high schools nationwide entered the new semester on the 2nd. Last year, 30,000 high school students attended school every day, but this year, they go to school every day with kindergarten students until the second stage of social distancing.
According to the education community, the new semester will start without delaying the start of school this year, but due to Corona 19, all students are restricted from attending school.
In principle, the density of kindergarten, elementary, and junior high schools is one-third, as the distance distancing applied to the current metropolitan area is in principle one-third, but many schools have decided on a two-thirds school attendance policy, reflecting the demands of parents to expand school attendance. Even in the non-metropolitan area where the distance staging step 1.5 is applied, the density of 2/3 is maintained unless there are exceptional cases.
This decision is based on the fact that the quarantine authorities confirmed that there were not many infections in the school last year, and there were particularly few confirmed cases of infants and elementary school students.
There are still many voices concerned about infection in the school, but there is a large demand for further expansion of school attendance.
On the other hand, many parents are worried about sending their children to school more often. In this case, you can use home study, which is recognized as attendance even if you study at home without going to school.
According to the Ministry of Education and the Provincial Office of Education, students can enjoy extracurricular experiences that are recognized for attendance for a maximum of 40 days per year, as in last year. However, it does not give you the option to do what you want between school classes and remote classes.
An official from the Ministry of Education said, “If the distance is reorganized, it is inevitable to change the school management policy, but there will be no big change in the framework.”
