The parking robot moves under the vehicle pallet.

When the driver places the vehicle on the pallet at the entrance to the parking lot, the robot moves the vehicle to the designated location by following the QR code on the floor.

If you drive your car only to the entrance of the parking lot, you don’t need any human touch during the parking process.

The parking lot here is being piloted for employees of the nearby police station.

Afterwards, it will be open to the public using the nearby public parking lot.

It is expected that the use of robots will increase the number of parking spaces by more than 30% in the same parking area, helping to solve the problem of shortage of parking spaces in the city.

“Reservation function is also possible. Valet parking function is also possible. We applied for the technology to recognize QR codes on the floor in 2015. We have the original technology.”

Parking robots are classified as mechanical parking devices under the’Parking Lot Act’, but safety inspections and certifications have been restricted so far because there are no safety standards and standards.

Accordingly, the government granted a special case for demonstration through a regulatory sandbox, which temporarily exempts new businesses from regulations to secure data.

“We are trying to prepare the Act on the Promotion of Industrial Convergence so that it can be a temporary permit so that safety-certified demonstration projects do not stop in the middle…”

The government plans to approve 100 regulatory special cases this year with a plan to support financing necessary for commercialization by allowing companies that have approved special cases to receive preferential interest rates and guarantee benefits.
