On the 27th, the first day of domestic Pfizer vaccination, the National Medical Center verifies a plan to increase the number of vaccinations per vial using a special’low dead space, LDS’ developed by domestic companies.
If the number of vaccinations per vial increases from 6 to 7, it becomes the first case in the world.
National Medical Center head of the National Medical Center Chung Ki-hyun explained to Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun, who came to observe Pfizer vaccination at 9 am on the same day, and explained the number of vaccinations per bottle of Pfizer, saying, “The syringe is good and the nurse skills are so good that further results may be produced.”
He said, “If I do it properly in the morning, I think I can accurately verify it,” he said. “When the frozen Pfizer vaccine is defrosted, there is about 0.45cc, and when 1.8cc of physiological saline is mixed, the total amount becomes 2.2cc. If you make 0.3cc, you will get 7 servings,” he explained.
In response, Prime Minister Jung said, “Because it’s a business secret…”, and Mr. Jung said, “It looks like a big deal will break out…”
Prime Minister Jung also said, “I was worried about what to do if all 6 people did not come out and served 5.5 people. I thought,’We can trust our nurses because they are excellent,’ but I think it was confirmed that I was not wrong.”
Myung-don Oh, the head of the Central Vaccination Prevention Center, also helped, “When I pulled it out in the morning with a syringe specially made by our company, it was pulled very accurately, and it is a vial for 6 people, and the syringe is good enough to remain even after pulling out 6 people.”
However, the National Medical Center said it would report the vaccination results later, saying that different results may be obtained from actual vaccination, unlike prior experiments.
According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a single dose of Pfizer vaccine is 0.3cc, which contains 6 doses per vial.
LDS syringes must be used to properly extract each batch. If you use a regular syringe, you can only use 5 times, and you cannot collect and inoculate the remaining amount.
If the number of people vaccinated per bottle of Pfizer vaccine is increased from 6 to 7 according to the vaccination result on this day, the number of Pfizer vaccinations can be increased by 16.7% arithmetically.
On the previous day, Korea received 58,000 Pfizer vaccine supplies through the COVAX facility, an international vaccine supply organization.
The government has signed a purchase contract for 13 million people through a direct contract with Pfizer, separate from Kovacs.
