Lee Nak-yeon, head of the Democratic Party, said the 4th emergency disaster support fund could exceed 20 trillion won.
Representative Lee said, “There will be quite a remarkable change with respect to the 4th emergency disaster subsidy, such as the target and scale of support,” at the’Small Business Online/Offline Conversation’ held at the Gimhae Small Business Business Center on the afternoon of the 27th.
He then explained that the plan for the additional disaster support fund will be confirmed at the party-government council tomorrow, and that it will be transferred to the National Assembly after a resolution by the State Council earlier next week.
Representative Lee predicted that adding an additional 15 trillion won and 4 trillion won in the fixed budget (the budget already confirmed by the Assembly) would be a little less than 20 trillion won, but it would increase during the National Assembly deliberation process and exceed 20 trillion won.
He then emphasized that this subsidy is larger than the family support (13 trillion won) and the 3rd subsidy (9 trillion won), which were provided to the entire public last year.
Regarding the expansion of the support target, Lee explained that “40,000 street vendors nationwide, which have been excluded from support so far, and special employment types or culture and arts fields are also included in this support,” he explained, adding that eight additional industries will be added.
He also explained, “Because the business was not registered, the street vendors thought that it was wrong that they were excluded from the application, so they strongly insisted that they should be included in the application.”
It also emphasized the creation of a mega city in the southeast region.
Representative Lee said, “Yesterday the National Assembly passed the Special Act on Gadeokdo Island New Airport.” I emphasized it.
It also explained in detail the transportation policy that is being planned for the establishment of a mega city in the southeastern region.
Representative Lee said, “It is still in the design phase, but the connection between Noksan Industrial Complex in Busan, Gadeokdo, Gadeokdo, and Ungdong Railway in Jinhae-gu is in the project plan of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
In addition, he emphasized that the era of connecting Busan from Gyeongnam to Busan by subway through an 8km section tunnel from Ung-dong in Jinhae-gu to Gyeongnam Provincial Office should be accelerated.
Southeastern megacity refers to connecting the Southeast region into a single life, economy, and cultural community by linking neighboring cities in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam to overcome overcrowding in the metropolitan area and to achieve balanced regional development.
