In the aftermath of a surge in US Treasury yields, the KOSPI fell sharply on the 26th, and individual investors are supporting the bottom of the index with a record-three third-place net buying trend.

As of 2:30 p.m. in the stock market on that day, individuals net bought 3,24.5 billion won.

Although it is an intraday record, it is the third-largest individual net purchase after January 11th (4,491 trillion won) and 26th (4.25 trillion won).

Foreigners net sold 1.7 trillion won and 1 trillion 511.8 billion won respectively, leading the index decline on the day.

At the same time, the KOSPI dropped 105.29 points (3.40%) from the battlefield to 2,994.40, regaining the 3,000 line, giving back 3,000 lines after a day.

On this day, individual purchases were concentrated on large stocks.

Looking at the current status of individual net purchases by type, the net purchase of large-cap stocks was KRW 2.84 trillion, accounting for 88% of the total net purchase.

By industry, net purchases of 1.62 trillion won were concentrated in electricity and electronics, followed by service (447.3 billion won), chemicals (331.3 billion won), and transportation equipment (285.1 billion won).

While the stock market fluctuates, individual investors are believed to have started buying at low prices, mainly large-cap stocks with high market caps such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, NAVER, LG Chem, and Hyundai Motors.
