When the government selected the Gwangmyeong Siheung Special Management Area as the 3rd new city and announced it, the landowners of the local settlement district, who have always advocated the development of the’replacement method’, immediately protested.
According to the Gwangmyeong City and Gwangmyeong Siheung Residents’ Association, the Gwangmyeong Siheung Special Administrative Region Village District, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it plans to supply 70,000 units by selecting 1271 million square meters of the Gwangmyeong Siheung Special Management Area as the third new city on the 24th (Report on page 1 of February 25 =Supply 70,000 households to Gwangmyeong and Siheung… I got on the last train of ‘3rd New City’)did.
Accordingly, the Gwangmyeong Siheung Residents’ Association reported through a press release titled,’The Gwangmyeong Siheung residents’ position on the announcement of the new city of the Gwangmyeong Siheung Special Management Area.’ “It increased the damage to the residents by repeatedly failing the policies that alternately designate them.”
“The government designated this area as a special management area in 2015, and stipulated that the villages should be led by the villagers, and in fact, they actively encouraged village maintenance by the village.” After receiving more than half of the consent, they requested LH (Korea Land and Housing Corporation) to implement the village maintenance project in 2019, but they still refuse to respond.”
In particular, “If you look at the announcement of the new city by the government, it seems that the village maintenance project that the government has enacted and recommended by the government has been virtually destroyed. If the illegal administration continues, the residents will have no choice but to fight for the protection of the rule of law.” Warned.
Regarding this, Gwangmyeong City said, “We plan to provide land compensation to landlords in settlement districts in a large soil method rather than an acceptance method,” and said, “We will try to reduce damage to land owners as much as possible through consultation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.”
Yun Seung-mo, joint representative of the Gwangmyeong Siheung Residents’ Association, said, “The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, or Gwangmyeong and Siheung City must accurately explain the situation related to land compensation to the residents,” he said. “Residents are looking forward to presenting a reasonable plan to understand.”
