While transporting Korea’s first new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine to Jeju, there was a commotion to recover the entire amount out of the proper temperature range.

Originally, the vaccine for Jeju was planned to arrive at the Mokpo ferry terminal at 11 pm on the 24th and be sent to Jeju using a ferry at around 1 am on the 25th. However, by the time the AZ vaccine, which had to be transferred at room temperature of 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, left the outside of Icheon, the temperature of the vehicle’s transport container once fell to 1.5 degrees, which became a problem.
After recognizing the problem through the integrated control center, the disease agency returned the vehicle to the distribution center and started a vehicle with a new vaccine. The vaccine managed to be shipped 30 minutes before the departure of the ferry Queen Genuvia. The ship will depart Mokpo Port at 1 am and arrive at Jeju Port around 6 am.
An official from the Agency for Disease Control and Prevention said, “It was confirmed that the vehicle driving or the temperature control function was not broken, and the temperature of the transportation container was slightly lowered.”
He added, “However, it is the first vaccine to go to Jeju, and if it is strictly judged, we decided to replace it in consideration of the deviation of the proper temperature and the time remaining until the departure of the ship.”
