In Iran, a woman who died of a heart attack was hanged for murdering her husband while she had already died at the request of her mother-in-law.

According to The Times in the UK on the 22nd (local time), Zahra Ismaili, 42, was scheduled to be hanged on the 17th for the murder of her husband who routinely committed violence. However, she collapsed and died of a heart attack when she saw 16 people being hanged before her.

Ismaily’s lawyer Omid Moradi said through social media, “Ismaily seemed to have died, but she said she wanted to see Ismaily fall under her feet for a moment by kicking her own chair.” He said it was executed.

His husband, murdered by Ismaily, was a senior official in the Iranian intelligence ministry. He has been habitually beating his wife, and Ismaily is known to have killed her husband for the purpose of self-defense.

On the 21st, France’s’Iranian Resistance National Front’ demanded strong condemnation from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the United Nations Special Investigator for Women’s Human Rights.

Meanwhile, the Times reported that “in the end, 17 people were hanged at the Razai Shahr prison, about 40km west of the capital Tehran.” Even in Iran, where execution rates are high, 17 people are rarely executed a day. Iran executed a total of 233 people by early December last year, recording the highest execution rate in the world after China. From the beginning of this year to the present, a total of 42 people have been confirmed to have been executed.
