According to GS Group on the 24th, an eco-friendly committee composed of chief environmental officers (CGOs) of each subsidiary was officially launched with Chairman Heo Tae-soo participating at GS Tower in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The eco-friendly council is the highest decision-making body that deliberates and decides on GS Group’s ESG management and eco-friendly new business. GS President Hong Soon-ki will be the chairman, and CGOs of each affiliate will meet monthly to discuss pending issues. The GS Group has decided to establish three subcommittees under the Eco-friendly Council, ▲ESG Division ▲Safety·Health·Environment Division ▲Eco-friendly New Business Division. The’ESG Division’ establishes eco-friendly policies through collaboration between affiliates in the fields of ESG management, social contribution, shared growth and sustainability management of each company, and promotes social responsibility and transparent management.

The’Safety, Health and Environment Subcommittee’ discusses energy saving and efficiency policies, along with management of air pollution, wastewater, and waste at each business site, and is in charge of carbon credit management in accordance with the climate change agreement and carbon emission 2050 policies. do.

In the’Eco-friendly New Business Division’, the business of responding to climate change such as renewable energy, carbon capture and utilization (CCUS), electric vehicles, hydrogen charging stations, drones and mobility, and industrial bio such as bio materials, bio chemicals and bio fuels, and waste batteries and waste plastic recycling business.
