Broadcaster Ham So-won said that kimchi was’pao chai’ (Chinese pickled food) and became the cubic child of the public.
Ham So-won called Kimchi’Pao Chai’ in a recent live broadcast, and was scolded by netizens.
Chinese netizens argued that the origin of Korean kimchi was China, which was controversial in Korea. Therefore, netizens are criticizing Ham So-won, saying, “Kimchi is both Korean and Chinese.”
The Cheong Wa Dae national petition also posted an article asking Ham So-won to abandon the broadcast. Although he did not mention his real name, he explained that he was broadcast live with his Chinese mother-in-law, and it can be guessed that it is Ham So-won.
In an article titled’I petition you to get off the broadcast of Mr. ***, who called Kimchi as Pao Cha,’ the author said, “In January, when the atmosphere was in full swing, a Chinese mother-in-law entered Korea and filmed a broadcast and was mobilized on an Instagram live broadcast to continue their commercial activities. In the meantime, there was a case of telling kimchi that it was Pao Cha and viewers asking for correction.”
