The British government announced on the 22nd (local time) that it would gradually ease restrictions from next month with the aim of lifting the blockade entirely by the end of June.

According to the BBC, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a four-step plan to lift the blockade of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Congress today.

In the first phase, school attendance resumes from the 8th of next month, and up to two people are allowed to meet outdoors. From March 29th, outdoor meetings between six or fewer households will be allowed. Outdoor sports facilities such as soccer, golf and tennis courts will also be available.

In addition, in accordance with the second-stage measures that take effect from April 12, stores, beauty salons, sports facilities, zoos and amusement parks will resume business.

The British government is planning to lift most social distancing restrictions starting from the third stage of action from May 17th. As a result, outdoor gatherings of up to 30 people are possible, and meetings of up to 6 people or between two households are allowed indoors.

From the fourth stage of action, which takes effect from June 21st, the goal is to lift all restrictions related to meetings.

The UK government only stressed that the vaccination program must go as planned to move on to the next step, that the vaccine must prove that it has reduced the number of deaths and hospitalizations, and that the infection rate should not cause a surge in inpatients.

It was also made clear that the risk of withdrawing restrictions due to the new mutant virus should not increase.

Britain imposed a third blockade in January as the mutant virus spread. The number of new confirmed cases per day, which once reached 70,000, decreased to 10,000 as of the 22nd due to the blockade effect.

In the UK, which started vaccination against Corona 19 in December last year, 1772 million people have completed the first vaccination so far. About 620,000 people have completed the second vaccination.
