US Secretary of State Tony Blincoln announced on the 22nd (local time) that “we are still focusing on the denuclearization of North Korea.”

According to Voice of the United States (VOA), Minister Blincoln delivered a video speech at a disarmament conference in Geneva, Switzerland, saying, “We will work closely with our allies and partners to cope with North Korea’s illegal weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs.” said.

Secretary Blincoln also stressed that President Joe Biden has made it clear that the United States has a national security need and moral responsibility to reduce and ultimately eliminate the threat of weapons of mass destruction.

“The two countries and the world have become safer,” he said in connection with the five-year extension of the’New Strategic Arms Reduction Agreement’ (New Start) between the US and Russia two weeks after President Biden took office. It is just the beginning of an effort to do it,” he said.

In his speech on the day, Secretary Blincoln also made it clear that “Iran is committed to ensuring that it never acquires nuclear weapons,” and that “the best path to achieving that goal is diplomacy.”

Minister Blincoln repeatedly emphasized the previous position that the United States will return to agreement if Iran strictly adheres to the contents of the Comprehensive Joint Action Plan (JCPOA) to resolve the nuclear issue.

German Foreign Minister Haiko Mas also stressed that the North Korean issue should pay full attention to the day.

“Not only did North Korea violate the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and later withdrew, but it is continuing to strengthen its banned nuclear and missile programs,” said Mars.

Japan’s Foreign Minister Hwashio Hiichiro said that the international community should work together to stop North Korea’s nuclear proliferation.

He stressed that the full implementation of UN Security Council resolutions is essential to achieve a complete, verifiable and irreversible abolition of North Korea’s weapons of mass destruction and all ballistic missiles.
