Ministry of Public Administration and Security Minister Jeon Jeon-cheol on the 21st requested that “forest authorities, fire departments, and local governments minimize damage by promptly investing available resources” regarding a forest fire in Andong-si, Gyeongbuk.

The forest fire that occurred in Imdong-myeon, Andong-si around 3:20 pm on that day spread, and the Forest Service issued the national crisis warning stage at 6 pm as the’severe’ stage.

Minister Jeon said, “As strong winds are blowing in most parts of the country at night, so that forest fires do not occur in Gyeongsang-do and other places, each local government should make thorough preparations and make every effort to prevent damage.”

He emphasized, “Please pay special attention so that human damage does not occur even during the night evolution process.”

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security started the countermeasure support headquarters at 6 pm on that day. The plan is to dispatch a site situation management team to the site in an emergency to provide full support for manpower and resources necessary for extinguishing wildfires.
