[인터뷰] About’WOW: Shadowlands’, Anduin, and a new journey

‘World of Warcraft: Shadowlands’ (hereinafter referred to as Shadowlands) is moving towards a new story. As the guard’s plan threatens the entire Shadowlands with more intense malice, the warriors of Azeroth face powerful enemies in the sanctuary of domination.
Blizzard, which shocked users of’Dark Land’ around the world with Anduin, who was brainwashed by a guard, what kind of content and adventure stories are they preparing? Through an interview with the development team, we heard the story of the next chapter of’Dark Land’.

Q. There is a problem that the drop rate of items in’Dark Land’ is very low. Are there any plans to adjust the drop rate?
M. In the dark land, the training system was gone. This is the content that the users’ satisfaction was not high. In this dark land, we wanted to increase the options for obtaining items.
The drop rate is expected to be higher. In addition, valor points will be introduced, and existing items can be upgraded or new items can be purchased through valor points. In relation to raids and covenants, additional acquisition destinations will be made.

Q. Does the new dungeon’Veiled Market Tajavesh’ have a covenant bonus? And I wonder if there are plans to use the sweet bonus of the covenant in the raid.
M. The dungeon, where relays are the center, is located in a relay that does not belong to any region. Therefore, there will be no interaction with a specific covenant group. There will be no single covenant interaction in the Sanctuary of Domination, but in the case of the first named, you will be able to use special hero abilities like Thorgast.

Q. Sylvanas appears as the final boss of the next raid. Will all the stories surrounding Sylvanas end in this update?
S. Sylvanas is one of the very important characters in the WoW worldview. The story is all about the relationship between the guard and Anduin. The story after the new trailer will be unleashed from the chain of domination. Sylvanas’ story will not end with simple wins or losses. Please look forward to the stories that will unfold in the future.

Q. I met Kel’Thuzad once again as a boss through a new raid. Are you going to bring about a dramatic change compared to the attack pattern you met as a boss in the past? Or is there a specific gimmick that can reminisce about past patterns?
M. As mentioned in Deep Dive, Kel’Thuzad will meet you as the boss in front of Sylvanas. The battle will proceed through a new mechanic. You will be able to experience a changed battle with the new patterns of’Rich’ Kel’Thuzad using cold.

Q. You mentioned that “What the guards really pursue is an unclear secret entangled in an unidentified group known as the original beings.” Does the original being mean those who created the titan? Will players also meet the original existence?
S. It is a part that continues to develop further. The story of characters like Titan and Pantheon is not at the stage where many stories can be told. However, you will be able to learn more about it in the future as well as proceeding with the Dark Land story.

Q. In order to fly in the Darklands, do I have to carry out each region’s covenant Dan Campaign?
M. It is not necessary to play the entire Covenant’s Dan Campaign to unlock Naltal. If the activity continues to a certain level in the covenant group that belongs to the present, it becomes available throughout the region. You can also use your existing naltal. However, it is impossible to fly from the hell.

Q. In the previous expansion pack, there was a mini raid between each large raid. This time, it seems that the regular raid, the Sanctuary of Domination and the Mega Dungeon, have filled the spot. Can we expect such a content scale and structure for every major update in the Darklands in the future?
S. The Mini Raid of Battle for Azeroth was prepared to unfold the story, filling the gap between the stories. The story of this raid is very clear only in the dungeon. I thought it would be okay to not fill the story through additional raids. There will be no mini raid this time.

Q, At Tajavesh, Market of the Veil, battles are unfolding across familiar regions of Azeroth. Can you introduce any additional special combat patterns?
M. You will be able to meet the relays. Tajabesh, as its name suggests, is the marketplace. Battles will take place at the post office. I hope you look forward to seeing how the battles happening in various places, such as the post office, excite. A very interesting battle will unfold.

Q. In fact, I know that the reason fans have been so relieved about Anduin Lin’s fate so far is that an older Anduin appeared in a comic book in the past to fight the darkness. In this respect, can it be seen that his fate has been confirmed?
S. The scene that appeared in the comics is a scene depicting a very distant future, and the confirmed future is correct. The work of Anduin, who was currently held captive by a guard and under mental control, is also one of his journey toward the scene of the comics. There are many stories to unfold in Anduinge in the future, so look forward to it.

Q. There are many opinions that the current Keystone Dungeon is designed too unfavorable to melee DPS. For this reason, there are opinions that occupations that can combine both close and range DPS, survival hunters, and uplifting shamans would rather change these traits into tanks. What do you think of these two opinions
M. I’ve gotten a lot of feedback on close dealers. We are working to improve this. It is very difficult and difficult to modify the balance of adding tank characteristics, but it seems to be an interesting idea. I think it’s an opinion worth considering.

Q. Bfaa Uldir Raid was able to adapt well in the raid by novice users over time thanks to the effect of’restart arrangement’. As time passed, it had the effect of lowering the entry barrier by itself.Is there a similar factor in the new raid?
M. In the case of the initial resumption arrangement, it was an item that became stronger whenever the boss was defeated, and it was an item that fits the background of Uldir at the time. This time, we are considering making an item that can reveal the concept of the chain of domination. Rather than recklessly lowering the raid difficulty, we are trying to add special elements through finer adjustments.

Q. Is Tyrande’s future story going after this patch?
S. It will be available in Patch 9.1. The anger of the Teldrassil incident remains, and the revenge and anger against Sylvanas remain. That feeling will continue, and you’ll see Tyrande come out in person after this patch.
