[최용재의 까칠한 축구]Wait for the abuser to become a “famous player”?

“The abuser is not a famous player, so what does it mean to tell it right now?”

The reaction of the whole Korean sports community to the incident of abuse (school violence) in professional volleyball, saying,’It’s not someone else’s job’. Isn’t there any event other than volleyball that the perpetrators of the school abuser are struggling to play?

There was an unforgettable word among the words I heard while covering the case of abusing other sports. It was a complaining that there was nothing to be gained by exposing the content of the abuse.

An official from a sports college said, “(Perpetrators) are not famous players, and some quit players and are working on other jobs. Talking now doesn’t make any difference. Rather, it’s just making an uproar late.” did.

In professional volleyball, all those who were troubled by the school’s power were star players. The victim, who burst into the abuses of the past, saw the perpetrators, who were the perpetrators, lost money and fame in an instant, crashed, and paid the’prime.’

But if there are other harassment perpetrators who are not active players, what can victims gain through exposure? Legally, the statute of prosecution for assault crimes is five years, so it is difficult to get help from the law later in the case of victims of abuses earlier than that.

Being a professional player is itself a’narrow door’. Many of the students who played elite sports when they were in school are pushed out of the competition, unable to become professional athletes, and find another way.

A school abuser who left the sports world. It is difficult to find a way to convict them once again. It is more likely that there will be no sound at all when exposed.

Just because the perpetrator is a famous star, the victim’s pain is greater, and just because the perpetrator is not currently famous does not mean that the victim’s pain has disappeared. Now that a big question has been raised about school abuse in student sports, we should not only focus on questioning the past actions of famous athletes, but broaden their scope.

In the meantime, I have had quite a bit of experience covering violence in sports. Each time it was a series of shocks. If a player has been assaulted, there are many avenues to inform them. From leaders to schools, sport associations, local governments, governments and investigative agencies.

However, there are many cases where the reporter becomes’bullying’ when the report is made. This is because I think that pointing out the problems of the team itself hurts teamwork. There are even people who say, “Why are you all going through trouble, even though everyone is patient?”

A victim of a harassment confessed, “If you report, you have to think that you will be expelled from this floor. Everyone around you join forces to make the victim a strange person.”

The reason the school was not eradicated is that the perceptions of those who accept this issue have not changed. With the weapon of the team (and the team’s performance) at the fore, a number of people have stood on the side of the perpetrators for breaking the purity of our sport. Forced the victim’s sacrifice.

To abandon sexual supremacy in order to get rid of scholarship is absurd and empty slogan. The goal of elite sports is, of course, to be the best. However, it should be made to achieve the best results in a fair competition system-healthy living system.

Now, more than ever, public opinion against’violence’ and voices of criticism is a great opportunity. When violence happened in sports, it is now time to completely change the atmosphere to’victim first’ rather than’team first’.

Regarding the abuse problem, rather than focusing on the need to punish the abuser by digging it out of the past, it is necessary to first find a way to discipline the perpetrator and treat the victim immediately when the abuser occurs.

At the same time, it is necessary to warn that “if you are abusive, you are prohibited from entering a professional”, you need to strongly inform the fact that “the opportunity to become a star is blocked by a player who has committed abusiveness right now.”

Couldn’t it be possible to give a prescription to the suffering victims to’wait for the perpetrator to become a famous star’?
