The Public Procurement Service announced on the 19th that since last year, domestic companies have signed export contracts worth 12.08 million dollars through the’K-Defense Prevention Overseas Procurement Market Entry Integrated Support Project’ and the’K-Defense Prevention Online Country Market Expo’. .
These companies succeeded in expanding their sales channels to overseas markets by signing contracts to export 7 items including masks, non-contact thermometers, and face shields to six countries including the US, Qatar, and Egypt.
In particular, amid the increasing popularity of KF94 masks after the inauguration of the US Biden government, domestic procurement companies exported KF94 masks worth $5.6 million to the US last year.
Also, on the 19th, four domestic companies signed export contracts of US$ 5.65 million with US procurement suppliers. Through this contract, Korean companies are able to purchase four items, including cotton masks ($43.6 million), contactless thermometers ($520,000), dental masks ($450,000), and face shields ($320,000), through a US procurement supplier in Washington DC. And the state governments of Virginia, Florida, and Maryland.
