Suwon District Court Ansan Branch held a trial on a private kindergarten official in Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do from 2 pm today (18th).

Kindergarten Director A, nutritionist, and cook were present at the trial on that day.

The judiciary explained that it is acknowledged that they have caused irreparable damage to the children by supplying kindergarten meals without properly inspecting them.

Accordingly, Director A was sentenced to 5 years in prison, and kindergarten dietitians and cooks were sentenced to 2 years and 2 years and 6 months respectively.

The court explained the reason for the sentencing, saying that it was admitted that 18 of them had suffered from hemolytic uremic syndrome, so-called’Hamburger’s disease’.

In addition, during the epidemiological investigation process, it was judged that they committed crimes systematically, like a criminal organization, by submitting false preservation meals and transaction statements.

In particular, Director A complained that Kindergarten management was “thought as a means of making money, not education for children.”

In this kindergarten, since the first food poisoning patient occurred on June 12 last year, 97 students, including students and their families, showed suspicious symptoms of food poisoning.

The quarantine authorities concluded that seasoned beef was stored even though food materials were not properly inspected and the refrigerator was not properly frozen due to the old refrigerator.

Parents of victims who attended the trial said they were fortunate that the sentence the prosecution had sought without commuting the sentence, but hoped that this would not happen again.

So far, the Ministry of Social Affairs has delivered it.
