As the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Korea spread again, confirmed patients appeared one after another across the country on the 18th.
According to the quarantine authorities and local governments such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, a total of 495 new confirmed cases were confirmed to be positive for Corona 19 from 0 o’clock to 9 p.m.
It is 69 fewer than the 564 total at the same time the day before.
In the area where confirmed cases were found, 376 (76%) in the metropolitan area and 119 (24%) in the non-metropolitan area.
By city and province, 170 people in Seoul, 169 people in Gyeonggi, 37 people in Incheon, 22 people in Gyeongbuk and Chungnam, 18 people in Chungbuk, 13 people in Busan, 9 people in Ulsan, 7 people in Gangwon-Jeonnam, 6 people in Gyeongnam, 5 people in Daegu, 4 people in Daejeon. Myeong, Gwangju and Jeonbuk, respectively, and Sejong and Jeju, respectively.
There were confirmed cases in all 17 provinces nationwide.
As time remains until midnight when the count is closed, the number of new confirmed cases to be announced as of 0:00 on the 19th is expected to increase further to 500.
The previous day, from 9:00 pm to midnight, 57 more people increased to 621 people.
The number of new confirmed cases dropped to 300 during the Lunar New Year holiday (2.11-14), then turned back to spreading, reaching 600 for two consecutive days from the previous day.
During the last week (2.12-18), the number of new confirmed patients per day recorded 403 → 362 → 326 → 343 → 457 → 621 → 621, with an average of 448 per day.
Among them, the number of confirmed cases of regional occurrence, which is a key indicator of the adjustment of the’social distancing’ stage, is on average 423 per day, and has re-entered the range of 2.5 stages of distancing (over 400 to 500 people nationwide or a rapid increase in patients such as doubling).
In the case of major new group infections, a number of group infections related to medical institutions were confirmed.
A total of 12 people were confirmed in connection with a medical institution in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, and 17 people were infected with a nursing hospital in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. In addition, 13 people were tested positive at a hospital in Gongju City, South Chungcheong Province.

Group infection related to family gatherings during the Lunar New Year holiday also continued. Nine people were confirmed in connection with the family gathering in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, 7 in the family gathering in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and six in the family gathering in Yeongdo-gu, Busan.
