In Busan, 26 people, including cases of group infections through family gatherings during the Lunar New Year holiday, were confirmed to have a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19).
The Busan City Health Authority said through an online briefing on the afternoon of the 17th, “2 people in the afternoon of the previous day and 24 people in the morning of the day were tested positive for Corona 19.” The cumulative number of confirmed cases increased to 3,091.
One of the confirmed family members in Gyeongnam No. 2056 was at work, and 101 employees and 35 contacts at the insurance company where 7 additional employees were confirmed were negative, but five members of the family of employees who were already confirmed were confirmed. As a result, there are currently 22 confirmed cases, including funeral homes, family members, and insurance companies related to Gyeongnam No. 2056.
As a result of the epidemiological investigation of patient 3065, confirmed the day before, it was found that they visited the parents’ house in Yeongdo-gu, Busan on the 12th of the Lunar New Year holiday with two family members, and all six members of the family gathered on that day were confirmed. A city official explained, “It violated the rules for banning private gatherings with more than 5 people, and the district is considering disposition.”
It was found that Gyeongnam No. 2068, confirmed on the 15th, had a meeting with 11 family members at their home in Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam, and their parents’ houses in Busanjin-gu, Busan during the Lunar New Year holidays. Among them, 9 family members were confirmed, including Gyeongnam No. 2068, 3 in Gyeongnam, 5 in Busan, and 1 in Gyeongbuk.
The health authorities are planning to investigate the three families of those who have violated the rules of banning private gatherings with more than five members, even if they are immediate family members during the Lunar New Year holidays, and imposed administrative disposition on those whose allegations are confirmed.
One worker and one patient were confirmed in the regular follow-up examination at Songsan Nursing Home in Jung-gu, where group infection occurred. The total number of confirmed cases increased to 31, including 10 employees and 21 patients.
One family member of a confirmed patient in the Cricket Boiler Asan Plant in Chungnam, where the group infection occurred, was also confirmed, and two families of the confirmed patient in Seoul were also infected.
One was positive in the preliminary examination for entering a nursing hospital. There were 3 confirmed cases of unknown infection route. Health authorities are conducting epidemiological investigations against them.
