The World Health Organization’s (WHO) local Corona 19 investigation team in China found a number of signs in December 2019 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, suggesting that there was a much wider infection than previously known. It is possible that Corona 19 had spread to the world much earlier.
According to CNN on the 14th (local time) in the US, Dr. Peter Ben Embarek, who led the WHO’s Wuhan field investigation team, said in an interview with the broadcast, “When it was reported that the first Corona 19 outbreak in Wuhan, there were 13 mutations with different gene sequences. It has been confirmed that the virus has spread.”
The fact that 13 mutant viruses already existed in December 2019 suggests that the virus has spread long ago, CNN said. “The virus was circulating widely in Wuhan at the time,” said Dr. Embarek. “This is a new discovery.” He added that the virus information confirmed this time “some is connected to the fishery market, but some are not.”
Meanwhile, the Chinese government has reported that Corona 19 officially occurred in December 2019 in Wuhan, but in contrast to this, similar symptoms appeared in Italy and elsewhere, claiming that China may not be the first origin.
Professor Edward Holmes, an infectious disease expert at the University of Sydney, Australia, said, “The data fits with the existing analysis that human infection occurred before December 2019, and that there was a mystery spread before Corona 19 was discovered in Wuhan’s Huanan fish market. It agrees,” explained CNN.
