The court also ordered Mr. A to complete a 40-hour child abuse treatment program and restricted him from working in child-related institutions for 7 years.
When Mr. A served as a fixed-term teacher at a middle school in Incheon from 2018 to 2019, he was accused of sexually abusing him after having sex with his third year student B (at the time 15 years old) several times.
It was investigated that Group A, who suffered from school violence in the first year of middle school, was emotionally unstable due to trauma, etc. at the time of the incident.
During the trial process, Mr. A denied the allegations, saying, “I am innocent when Army B does not receive the desired amount of settlement money.”
The judge said, “The defendant actively expressed favor with the victim and demanded high-level sexual behavior gradually.” I judged it.
“The defendant did not show regret for the wrongdoing, and did not make any effort to ask for forgiveness from the victim or recover the damage,” he explained. “The victim and his family have pleaded for severe punishment.”
However, the judge said, “The defendant has no history of criminal penalties in the past,” and “considering the situation that he quit school due to this case and is no longer working as a teacher,” said the reason for the sentence.
