An accident occurred in which customers’ naked bodies were exposed to glass windows due to insufficient operation at a 5-star hotel sauna located in Jeju Island.
Grand Chosun Jeju issued an admission statement on the 16th and said, “The part that was inadequate because it was not possible to lower the blinds in some spaces in the sauna due to operational errors was identified.”
The hotel explained, “The new sauna was equipped with a glass barrier coating and blinds, so the blinds were operated flexibly according to the weather conditions and the time of day.” He added that as a result of checking the CCTV, the damage he was concerned about did not occur.
Earlier, an online community posted an article stating that while staying at the Grand Chosun Jeju Hotel and using the sauna, the naked body was exposed in the window. Mr. A, who said he was a newlywed, wrote, “I looked at the window on the side of the sauna while walking, and I found out that the inside of the sauna can be seen from the outside.” Mr. A claimed that the inside of the shower and toilet was clearly visible from the hotel entrance, promenade, parking lot, and balconies of some rooms.
Mr. A inquired about the information to the hotel, but said that he received a reply that “it is not visible during the day because it has a mirror coating on the outside, and the blinds are lowered in the evening.” At the same time, he exclaimed, “I made an excuse for putting the blinds’by mistake’ for two days in a row only at the time we used them.”
Mr. A said, “I paid more than 800,000 won per night, and my wife and I used the bathroom in front of others, and I was convicted of taking a shower naked in front of many people.” I write in my mind for the purpose of the public interest.”
Grand Joseon Jeju remodeled and opened the Kensington Hotel Jeju in the Jungmun complex of Jeju last month.
