[한국정경신문=이상훈 기자] Heungkuk Life’s twin volleyball pioneer Lee Jae-young and Da-young Lee appeared in the controversy over’school violence (hakpok)’ by Kia. After the victims who suffered from violence in school appeared from them, the sisters published an apology and admitted that they were abusing, and it is speculated that hunger was not’stopping’ them.
Lee Jae-young and Da-young Lee appeared in Kia’s’Stinger Meister’ CF in August last year. The advertisement video showed the two players have grown up lovingly together since childhood. The two players showed the appearance of top stars by appearing on TV several times with both skill and appearance. Meanwhile, Lee Da-young posted an article on his social media that seemed to be shooting Kim Yeon-kyung, and a discord within the team broke out. However, Kim Yeon-gyeong was consistent with stage response, and in the meantime, controversy over the past abuse of Lee Jae-young and Lee Da-young arose.

The victim, who was said to have suffered severe harassment and violence by the two of them in school, said that he decided to expose after reading the SNS post of Lee Da-young’s claim of’bullying damage’. He who revealed that he was the two sisters’ victims of abuse revealed details of 21 abuses. In the end, Lee Jae-young and Da-young Lee posted a handwritten apology on Instagram on the 10th, acknowledging and apologizing for the controversy in the past.
Afterwards, the broadcasts that the two players appeared in are one after another. It seems that Kia also deleted the CF video as the controversy grew. Kia has not disclosed its official position in this regard, but the industry is interested in whether Kia will demand compensation from these players.
This is because, in the case of advertising contracts, if the model causes social controversy or seriously negatively affects the image of the advertising company, it includes a’classification clause’ that charges a penalty of 200-300% of the advertising cost. In the case of Lee Jae-young and Da-young Lee, it is difficult to pay a penalty for this, as they were abusive before the advertisement contract, but Lee Da-young fanned a conflict with other players through social media as a result of which the two players’ criminal records were revealed. The possibility of incurring a penalty for damage to the image cannot be excluded.
