A national petition was filed at the Blue House requesting that the twin sisters Lee Jae-young and Lee Da-young, who apologized as perpetrators of school violence, quit the volleyball industry.

On the 12th, a petitioner who demanded that the volleyball industry be quit, saying, “It is said that students from elementary school to middle school were constantly beating and threatening murder with a knife,” insisting that the twin sisters were not eligible to become athletes.

They also pointed out that they did not intend to apologize, but they are trying to escape this situation through a show-style apology by posting an apology to the social network service (SNS) when the victim exposes it.

Next, there was another petition claiming that young students who exercised should not suffer from school violence, and that it was disgusting to see the children who had been violent joining the professional squad and being active.

There were also requests for investigation and disciplinary action at the club and volleyball federation levels for allegations of school violence.

Another Cheong Wa Dae petitioner said, “Just as baseball teams and associations have recently taken strong and natural measures such as expulsion and withdrawal of nominations for players who have been exposed to school violence. We will have to permanently expulsion for this.”

Moreover, he added that school violence is a problem that cannot be overlooked if it is a star player representing Korean volleyball, and even if he apologizes, it is a loss to the image of the Volleyball Federation and the entire volleyball players. He added that only proper investigation and strict punishment, not personal solutions, are the only ways to prevent the same problem from occurring.

The Korean Volleyball Federation decided to jointly conduct a school violence prevention campaign and find an education plan to eradicate violence in consultation with the Korean Volleyball Association and the elementary, middle, high, and university alliances under the association when the problem of school violence between sisters Lee Jae-young and Da-young occurred did.
