[에너지경제신문 여헌우 기자] Kia reaffirmed that it will expand its business area by betting over 29 trillion won by 2025. On the 9th, Kia held’CEO Investor Day’ through an online channel and checked the company’s future business’Plan S’. It has declared that it will expand its business to various mobility fields, as it has made a bold decision to remove’car’ from its mission.

Plan S, which Kia unveiled last year, contains the content that it will switch to a preemptive electric vehicle (EV) business system and expand brand innovation and profitability by providing eco-friendly mobility solutions. To this end, Kia presented detailed goals such as △concrete EV conversion, △reinforcement of purpose-based mobility (PBV) business capabilities, and △mobility business expansion. Of the total investment amount of 29 trillion won, more than 10 trillion won will go into future projects.

The event on this day was an opportunity to review Plan S and introduce concrete business strategies. Specifically, Kia plans to build a lineup of 11 electric vehicles by 2026, and sell 1.6 million eco-friendly vehicles annually by 2030. PBV will unveil its first model next year and aim to become the number one in the global market by 2030. In the mobility field, car-sharing projects are tailored to each country.

Kia President Song Ho-sung said, “We are proclaiming this year as the first year of’Kia Transformation’ with a new logo, a new design, and a new mission.” It will take its place,” he said.
