Jed McKay, a freelance writer of Marvel, delivered the news about episode 3 of the Marvel comic book series’Taskmaster’ through his Twitter account on the 4th (local time).
“The’Taskmaster’ is going to Korea to pursue’Ami Han’,” said McKay. “Along with this, the Korean hero’Taegukgi’ will also appear.”
Looking at the preview image of the’Task Master’ released at the time, a Korean hero wearing a dress with the Taegeukgi pattern on his chest is posing. In the cartoon, it is reported that while the Taskmaster visited a spy agency in Korea, the content of conflict with Taegeukgi was unfolded.
When such news was delivered, netizens responded with anticipation such as “Marvel’s first Korean hero is coming out”, “I’m curious about the local reaction”, and “What will happen?”
The US Embassy in Korea also mentioned a Korean hero who appeared in Marvel comics. Earlier on the 8th, the Twitter account of the US Embassy in Korea posted a picture related to episode 3 of’Taskmaster’ and said, “Marvel Comics is trying to introduce a new Korean hero, and the name is’Taegeukki’.” “What is his superpower?” I also asked.
Marvel Comics previously introduced various Korean characters through several comic book series. Meanwhile, the’Taskmaster’ series, featuring Korean hero Taegeukgi, describes the story of a taskmaster, a villain who can imitate what he saw in person thanks to his accurate memory. Task Master is a Marvel character that first appeared in 1980.
Taskmaster has appeared in several comics such as Marvel’s famous cartoons’Captain America’,’Ant-Man’,’Spider-Man’, and’Deadpool’. In addition, he is scheduled to appear as a villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie’Black Widow’, which is scheduled to be released this year.
