Although the spread of the’third pandemic’ of a new coronavirus infection in Korea (Corona 19) has recently eased somewhat, it is showing signs of increase again as confirmed cases appear one after another across the country on the 9th.
According to the quarantine authorities and local governments such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, a total of 364 people across the country from 0 o’clock to 6 PM on that day were confirmed. 162 more than the 202 counted at the same time the day before.
308 people (84.6%) in the metropolitan area and 56 people (15.4%) in the non-metropolitan area. By city and province, there were 151 people in Gyeonggi, 139 people in Seoul, 18 people in Incheon, 17 people in Busan, 15 people in Daegu, 9 people in Gyeongnam, 7 people in Gwangju, 2 people in each of Chungnam and Gyeongbuk, and 1 in each of Chungbuk, Gangwon, Jeonbuk, and Jeonnam. · There have been no confirmed cases in 4 places including Ulsan, Sejong and Jeju.
As time remains until midnight when the count is closed, the number of new confirmed cases to be announced as of 0 o’clock on the 9th is expected to increase further to at least 400. The previous day, by midnight, 101 more increased to 303.
The third pandemic, which began in earnest from mid-November last year, showed a gradual decline this year, but at the end of last month, it soared to 500 people for a while due to group infections such as IM Mission, but recently dropped to around 300 people.
However, there is a high possibility that the number of confirmed cases will increase again as new group infections, large and small, are occurring in the metropolitan area.
In the case of major infections, a group infection related to a religious facility and a cultivation academy occurred in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do that afternoon, and so far, a bunch of 53 people have been confirmed. Twenty confirmed cases, including Shinto, came out from religious facilities, and one of them was found to be a lecturer at a school in the same region, and a Japanese colonial investigation revealed that 33 people, including students, were infected at the school.
