The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 9th that it will implement fire safety measures for vaccine storage facilities and vaccination centers to secure fire safety at corona19 vaccine-related facilities.

The Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters plans to establish a rapid response system in case of an emergency targeting two vaccine storage facilities (cryogenic freezers) in Pyeongtaek and Icheon, and the 119 Safety Center will conduct mobile patrols twice a day. In particular, assuming the second stage of response, the plan is to secure the distribution stability of vaccines by conducting virtual material response training once a month. The second stage of response is a warning order that mobilizes personnel and equipment from 5 to 9 adjacent fire stations, and is issued in stages 1 to 3 according to the size of the fire.

In addition, a joint fire safety inspection involving private experts, such as electricity and gas, will be conducted for 42 vaccination centers scheduled in the province, and a non-face-to-face firefighting facility operation function inspection led by related persons will be conducted once a quarter. In addition, each vaccination center plans to provide consulting in the fire safety field through the operation of a designated manager of fire department team leader or higher.

Prior to this, Sang-gyu Lee, head of the Gyeonggi-do firefighting and disaster headquarters, visited the GTR B&T distribution center, a COVID-19 vaccine storage facility in Icheon-si on the 8th, and toured the facility and inspected fire safety.

Director Lee said, “As the COVID-19 vaccine storage facility is directly connected to public safety, it is of utmost importance to prevent fires.” “Identify the types of accidents that may occur in the freezer, and always know the countermeasures for each type to thoroughly prevent fire I will pursue measures.”

Gyeonggi Province has announced that it will form a regional council in Gyeonggi Province and establish more than 42 vaccination centers to recruit medical institutions to participate in the COVID-19 vaccination.
