The court sentenced a father in his 50s, who raped his young daughter several times over the years. The young daughter, who had been detested, even made extreme choices.
Jeonju District Court Jeongeup Branch’s 1st Criminal Division (presiding judge Park Geun-jeong) announced on the 8th that he sentenced Mr. A (54) to 12 years in prison on charges of violating the Special Cases Act (quasi-rape due to relatives) related to the punishment of sexual violence crimes.
It also ordered an 80-hour sexual violence treatment program and a 10-year limit on employment at institutions related to children and youth and welfare facilities for the disabled.
Mr. A was accused of sexually assaulting his biological daughter B (12 years old at the time of the first crime) several times, aiming at the time his wife went out from September 2018 to August last year.
As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A was aiming for a break when his wife went on a trip or went out, and after suppressing the young B with force, he raped.
It is said that Ms. B even made an extreme choice due to Mr. A’s crime. Mr. A is known to have admitted all of the crimes in an investigation by an investigative agency.
The judge said, “The crime is very bad in that the defendant raped the victim several times since childhood, which is the victim’s own daughter who should be raised under his protection.” “The victim was greatly hindered from forming sexual values, Considering the fact that the victim suffered serious physical and mental damage to the extent of suicide attempts, severe punishment is necessary.”
The judge added, “However, the sentence was decided in consideration of the fact that the defendant admitted to the crime and did not have a history of criminal punishment.”
