A scene of a tiger from Baekdu Mountain descending to the village and eating a dog was captured in the Chosun Autonomous Region in Yanbian, Jilin Province, China.

According to local media such as Yanbian radio television broadcast on the 8th, a video of a tiger’s hunting scene from a distance of 7 to 8 meters has recently spread online in China.

In the video, the dog who was guarding the house barked looking in one direction, then turned his head to go in the other direction, and the tiger immediately approached from behind and bit the dog’s neck.

The photographer said, “Recently, tigers have often entered the village and ate dogs and sheep. Probably because it has snowed a lot and food is scarce,” he said. “After waiting for 15 days, I caught the hunting scene.”

He explained that the villagers heard the barking of the dog and went outside to save the dog, and the photographer also came along to protect and restrain the residents to watch the hunting scene closely, and made eye contact with the tiger for 7 to 8 seconds.

The photographer said, “At the time, I was very thrilled to see a real tiger, but I was scared to think about it after time.”

As the Chinese authorities designate and protect the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park, the number of tigers continues to increase, and as a result, there are reports of cases where residents encounter tigers.

On the 2nd, a woman posted a video in the Korean-Chinese Autonomous Region of Yanbian saying she encountered a tiger while leaving work with a colleague.

The authorities said, “Please pay attention to information about the distribution of tigers and leopards, and refrain from activities in areas where tigers may appear.”
