India and Mexico rankings declined in the aftermath of Corona

In the wake of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), global automobile production decreased by 15.5%, and Korea produced 3.56,848 vehicles last year.
Compared to 3,95,614 units in 2019, it decreased by 11.2%, but the decline was relatively small compared to other countries.

Production in both the first and fourth-largest producers declined, but the ranking remained unchanged. First place China fell 2%, while the second place US (-19%), third place Japan (-16.7%), fourth place Germany (-24.7%) declined even more.
India, which was 5th in 2019, and Mexico, which was 6th, fell by 24.9% and 21.2%, respectively. Spain and Brazil fell 19.6% and 31.6%, respectively, to 8th and 9th.
Russia entered the top 10 for the first time since 2000, and France, which was ranked 10th in 2019, fell to 13th after Thailand (11th) and Canada (12th).
As for the proportion of output, China rose 4.4 percentage points to 32.2%, and Korea rose 0.2 percentage points to 4.5%.
KAMA Chairman Chung Man-ki said, “The government should continue to expand its policies to support competitiveness such as drastic regulatory reform and research and development,” and said, “The energy of labor and management should be converted to input for production innovation rather than conflict resolution.”
