The government will significantly expand the’Clean Factory Construction Support Project in Industrial Complexes’ to support the transition to carbon neutrality and the Green New Deal of SMEs.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced the implementation of the clean factory construction project on the 8th, and announced that it plans to push ahead with the clean factory construction project by investing a budget of 20.3 billion won in 300 business sites this year.
Compared to last year, which supported 98 workplaces with a budget of 3.1 billion won, the budget increased to 17.2 billion won and 202 supported workplaces.
The clean factory construction project is a project to induce carbon neutral conversion in the industrial sector by supporting eco-friendly process improvement and facility supply to reduce the 4 major pollutants, such as greenhouse gases generated from the production process of small and medium-sized businesses in the industrial complex.
The Ministry of Industry is planning to provide an average of 60 million won (maximum 120 million won) as a national subsidy for eco-friendly process improvement and equipment supply to the selected business sites. The government subsidy rate is up to 75% for SMEs and 50% for mid-sized companies.
