The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 7th that it first published the’Materials and Parts Convergence Test Bed Integrated Equipment Manual’ (hereinafter referred to as equipment manual) to increase the convenience of use of test and evaluation equipment for materials, parts and equipment (small manager) companies.

The equipment manual contains about 900 types of equipment built and operated by 15 public research institutes including the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology to support rapid demonstration tests and reliability evaluations in the process of technology development and commercialization in six fields such as semiconductors, displays, and automobiles. The specifications, service contents, and usage procedures were included.

According to the handbook, a total of 1,137 types of equipment were built from 2000 to the end of 2019, and 869 types of equipment, excluding 268 types of relocated and discarded equipment, are currently in operation.

These equipments are not equipment for research purposes, but equipment built to support the commercialization of companies, and can be used by opening the equipment first at the request of the enterprise.

In addition, through a business agreement between public research institutes for revitalization of corporate support for small managers signed last year, a 50% reduction in usage fees can be applied when certain requirements are met, thereby reducing the corporate burden.

The Ministry of Industry expected that the publication of this equipment handbook would have the effect of promoting the use of common equipment and inducing the transfer of companies to 154 underutilized equipment.

Companies wishing to transfer low-use equipment can be transferred according to future procedures by contacting the person in charge of each equipment in the public research institute listed in the equipment manual.

In addition, it is expected to reduce the budget by activating corporate support through linkages between institutions and preventing duplication of equipment.

Equipment handbooks are distributed to over 70 institutions, including universities, research institutes, regional techno parks (TPs), and government-affiliated organizations in charge of corporate support.

The Ministry of Industry is planning to increase the timeliness of information by additionally constructing a total of 400 types of equipment (approximately 250 billion won) necessary to support the commercialization of key strategic items by 2022 and updating the equipment manual every year.

The data contained in the equipment manual is in the form of a pdf file on the Convergence Innovation Support Team’s website (https://Convergence Innovation Support Group.org) and the iTube website (https://www.itube.or.kr), a system for joint use of industrial technology development equipment. It can be downloaded as.
