Infections throughout the metropolitan area are continuing, with the number of group infections occurring in saunas in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul increasing by nearly 30 people.

In particular, group infections from public baths and saunas reached 24 cases across the country for four months, mostly in closed underground spaces and in an environment susceptible to infection because they did not wear masks.

After the first infected person came out on the 2nd, it was closed when the number of related confirmed cases increased to 27 within just four days.

It is said that this sauna has generally adhered to the quarantine rules, such as writing a guestbook and limiting the number of people who use it at one time.

However, ventilation was difficult in the basement, and it was confirmed that smoking rooms and sleeping rooms were in close contact.

Since diagnostic tests are being performed on an unspecified number of subjects, the scale of confirmation is expected to increase further.

There are 24 public baths and saunas where group infections occurred from last October to the latest.

As in the case of a sauna in Gangbuk-gu, most of them were located in the basement or operated public spaces, and it was investigated that the quarantine regulations were not properly followed, such as eating rice among users.

The scale of infection in existing outbreak cases continues to grow.

The number of confirmed cases related to Hanyang University Hospital increased by 7 new a day, and the cumulative number of infections increased to 80. In Gangdong-gu Oriental Medicine Hospital, the number of related confirmed cases increased to 23 with 3 additional infections.

An interior company in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, where 14 people were infected, was classified as a new case of collective infection, and the quarantine authorities urgently launched an epidemiological investigation.

The quarantine authorities said that a significant decline has not yet been seen, and repeatedly urged them to maintain a robust quarantine system, such as wearing a mask and disinfecting hands.
