Overseas fecal mutant virus infection has been further confirmed in Korea?

The Central Defense Countermeasures Headquarters analyzed 56 samples of overseas inflows and identified 12 mutant viruses.

There were 10 mutations from the UK and 2 from South Africa.

Three were confirmed during the quarantine phase, and the other nine were confirmed during the quarantine period after entry.

Accordingly, the number of overseas mutant virus infections confirmed in Korea since October last year has increased to 51.

There were 37 mutant infections from the UK, 9 from South Africa, and 5 from Brazil.

As of today’s 0 o’clock, the number of new patients a day totaled 393, reaching 300 on the second day.

The cumulative number of patients is 8,524.

There were still many cases in Korea, with 366 people and 274 patients in the metropolitan area.

An additional five died, the cumulative death toll rose to 1,464, and the number of seriously ill patients decreased by three.

The quarantine authorities have decided to directly purchase’Rekironaju’, an antibody treatment developed in Korea, from mid-month to medical institutions.

‘Rekironaju’ is administered to patients over 60 years of age, cardiovascular system, chronic respiratory disease, diabetes or hypertension, and patients with pneumonia who require oxygen therapy.
