US President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion (approximately 2100 trillion won) “corona 19 economic stimulus plan” was passed through the House following the Senate on the 5th, allowing the Democrats to independently process the budget did.
According to Reuters, in the House of Representatives that day, the Democratic Party passed the resolution on its own without Republican support. Previously, out of the 100 seats in the Senate, 50 seats from the Democratic and Democratic Party and 50 seats from the Republican Party were cast by Vice President Kamala Harris, who served as the Senate Chairman.
In the case of the House of Representatives, the Democratic Party occupied 221 seats out of the total 435 seats, so it was passed alone. This resolution allows the Senate and House to process the budget with a majority vote of the Democratic Party. With this, the Democratic Party laid a foothold to push the budgetary bill containing President Biden’s stimulus package against Republican opposition.
This is a resolution, not a law, so the presidential signature is not required, Reuters said. Meanwhile, prior to the House vote, Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said he hoped the House would process the budget within two weeks and hand it over to the Senate.
