Google,’Kimchi Origin’ from China to Korea “Not true, immediate action”

Google Korea announced on the 5th that it has modified the search result for’Kimchi Origin’ in the search box from China to Korea. This is a measure that was largely opposed by domestic netizens when the’origin of kimchi’ was found in China in the Google search box amid the continuing debate about’the country of origin of kimchi’ between Korea and China.

Google Korea said, “Search results appearing in the Google knowledge panel information are automatically generated based on various information on the web,” and “In this process, the verification process is required from multiple sources, but sometimes facts and different contents are reflected. There are cases, and in this case, we have hurriedly corrected.

Earlier this morning, when searching for the origin of kimchi in the Google search box centering on the internet community, there was a controversy that the result of’China’ was displayed. This was the same when searching in Korean as well as English.

Currently, Korea and China are having a conflict over the’Kimchi Master Country’. In Baidu, the search site most visited by Chinese people, there was a controversy over the explanation that Korean kimchi originated in China, and that Korea started making kimchi with chili from the 16th century.
