Freitas began his professional career by being nominated for the Washington Nationals in the 15th round of the 2010 Major League New Draft.

In 2017, he made his big league debut at the Atlanta Braves and played for the Seattle Mariners and Milwaukee Brewers.

Kiwoom’s club introduced, “Praytas is 188cm tall, has a sturdy body weight of 113kg, and can handle first baseman and catcher.”

Freitas’ big league performance was batting average of 0.200 (25 hits in 125 at-bats) in 59 games in 3 seasons, 1 home run, 13 points and 8 RBIs.

In the minor leagues, he played 802 games in 10 seasons, batting 0.289 (2,795 at-bats, 808 hits), 73 homers, 390 points and 440 RBIs. On-base percentage + slugging percentage (OPS) increased 0.812.

In 2019, in the minor league triple A, he was active with 125 hits, 12 homers, 47 walks, 55 strikeouts, and an OPS of 1.022, ranking first in the league batting average (0.381) and on-base percentage (0.461).

Kiwoom’s team said, “Praytas was unable to play the game because the minor league was canceled in the aftermath of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) last year. Explained.

From next week, Freitas plans to train with more than 20 agent-affiliated players at a ballpark in Arizona, USA, organized by his agency, PSI Sports Management.

Kiwoom’s team receives training videos every day before entering Korea to check the status of the players.

Head of Kiwoom Ko Hyung-wook said, “Even if it took time, we tried hard to recruit the necessary players for our team.

I wanted a player with long hitting power that could inspire the other line’s vitality through an active attack in the center hitting line,” he said.

The club will not spare any support so that the players can adjust to life in Korea and the KBO league well.”

Freitas plans to enter Korea after completing administrative procedures such as issuing a visa.

After entering the country, they are quarantined for two weeks before joining the squad.
