In February, the used car market price increased from the previous month in the case of sedans, and the large sports utility vehicle (SUV) showed a decline.

According to the used car market price in February of this year, which was released by the automobile trading platform Enka.com on the 5th, the domestic car market price rose an average of 0.49% from the previous month. It was found that the market price of the double sedan models showed a big rise.

The used car market price released this time is targeting popular models of 2018 models of domestic finished car brands such as Hyundai, Kia, Renault Samsung, and Ssangyong and imported car brands such as Mercedes, BMW, and Audi.

Hyundai’s Grandeur IG, whose minimum price fell to 10 million won last month, rose the most to 6.73% based on the minimum price. In terms of the maximum price, Hyundai Sonata New Rise and Avante AD rose sharply to 4.59% and 5.97%, respectively.

The Genesis G70, which was released at the end of last year, also showed an average market price increase of 1.74%. It is analyzed that the demand to purchase popular sedans at a reasonable price was concentrated as the market price of domestic sedans fell sharply last month.

On the other hand, the market price of large SUV models fell overall. In particular, the Ssangyong Motor G4 Rexton fell the most at 3.39% based on the minimum price. It is believed that it was influenced by the launch of the All-New Rexton at the end of last year and the active promotion for new car sales earlier this year. Hyundai’s Palisade also fell to 2.71% in the minimum price following last month.

The market price of Imports fell 0.53% on average compared to the previous month, while the decline of SUV models was remarkable like domestic cars. The model with the largest price decline was the Mini Cooper. Mini Cooper fell 3.02% on average, making it possible to purchase for 19 to 24 million won.

In addition, the second generation Volvo XC60, which is the top sales volume in the domestic imported SUV market, fell 2.35% on average and Ford Explorer fell 1.53%.

Park Hong-gyu, head of the business division of Enka.com, said, “It seems that the waiting demand of consumers who delayed purchasing used cars last winter was reflected quickly compared to the same period in general. In particular, it is understood that transactions were actively carried out around the domestic semi-mid-sized sedans with high cost performance.”
