On the 4th, independent lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo expressed his gratitude to Kim Jong-in, chairman of the Emergency Response Committee, the power of the people who agreed on the plan for the’two-track two-stage unification’ plan.
Rep. Hong said on his Facebook page on the 4th, “I am very grateful that Kim Jong-in, Chairman of the People’s Power Emergency Countermeasures Committee, gave the representative of the People’s Party Ahn Chul-soo through unification without forcing him to join the party.” Revealed.

He said, “For the unification process without a setback, I ask the diplomatic committee to review that one-on-one debate will be conducted with a sense of speed (at the party contest).”

The day before, Representative Ahn and Rep. Geum agreed that the opposition runners, excluding the power of the people, would first gather and unify. It is a step-by-step unification method in which runners outside of the people’s power and runners of the people’s power each select candidates through a separate contest and then the two candidates negotiate a final unification.
This was the way Chairman Kim wanted, who adhered to the position that President Ahn and others would not be able to compete in the contest together unless they were in the power of the people.
