On the 2nd, a man in his twenties who had fallen over a railroad fence along the Imjin River in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do was discovered on the 2nd.
According to the police and military authorities, Mr. A (28) asked for rescue, saying, “Please live,” near the railroad fence of the Imjin River Ecological Trail, Paju-si, at around 10:10 am.
Mr. B, an employee of the Korea Land Information Corporation, who was in the process of investigating the flood damage in the vicinity, found Mr. A and reported it to the police.
At the time of discovery, Mr. A was wearing thin clothes, no shoes, and showed symptoms of hypothermia. On this day, the Paju area was so cold that a cold wave warning was issued.
The spot where Mr. A was found is an ecological trail that can be accessed by the general public, but recently it has been controlled due to the influence of avian influenza (AI).
Reporter B said, “I wasn’t wearing clothes and shoes in the cold weather. Another employee took off my work clothes over the iron fence,” he said.
The military authorities investigated if there was a potential for the AA, considering that the point where A was found was inside the iron fence in the northernmost part of Paju, but confirmed that it was not relevant.
Fortunately, the current condition of Mr. A is said to have no harm to his life. However, the method and reason for crossing the fence by Mr. A will be investigated after his condition improves.
The police confirmed that Mr. A is living in Seoul and recently reported missing from his family.
The police also confirmed that Mr. A was not Jang Joon-ho (21), a developmentally disabled man who went missing on Pyeonghwanuri-gil in nearby Goyang City on December 28 last year.
