During the past two days, 119 deaths from Corona 19 occurred in Japan, recording a record high, NHK reported.
As of 8:20 p.m., the number of deaths in Japan was added to 119, representing a total of 5965, and 2,324 confirmed daily, the cumulative number of confirmed cases was 39,4799.
Japan replaced 113 people, the most daily death record set on the 28th of last month, in 5 days. It was analyzed that the number of new confirmed cases decreased due to emergencies in various regions, but the number of deaths increased due to an increase in the infection rate of the elderly.
When looking at the number of new confirmed cases by region, △Tokyo 556 △Osaka Prefecture 211 △Kanagawa Prefecture 187 △Aichi Prefecture 101 △Saitama Prefecture 247 △Chiba Prefecture 222 people.
The cumulative confirmed and dead are all figures including the occupants of the international cruise ship’Diamond Princess’.
Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the Japanese government announced that it would extend the Corona 19 emergency by one month to 10 metropolitan local governments including Tokyo and Osaka Prefecture.
Accordingly, the emergency that was scheduled to end on the 7th will be extended until the 7th of next month. However, if the infection situation improves, the emergency could be lifted before the deadline expires, the government authorities said.
